Overview of bizSAFE Level 1 Course
The bizSAFE Level 1 course is an essential part of the bizSAFE programme administered by the Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC). It provides CEOs and top management with a comprehensive understanding of workplace safety and health protocols. The course covers topics such as the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act, subsidiary regulations, risk management, bizSAFE concept, and WSH duties of company directors. By completing the course, participants gain knowledge revolving around their legal obligations under the WSH act, prepare a company WSH policy, and contribute to a safe working environment.
What is bizSAFE Level 1?
bizSAFE Level 1 is the starting point of the bizSAFE journey, a programme mandated by the WSH Act for all workplaces. It requires top management to participate in a specialised workshop conducted by bizSAFE service providers. This level focuses on risk assessment for work activities and processes, ensuring understanding of legal obligations and compliance with safety regulations. Level 1 certification also grants companies access to bizSAFE communities and associated privileges offered by participating bizSAFE partners.
Why should you get certified for bizSAFE Level 1?
The bizSAFE Level 1 course provides top management with an understanding of the WSH Act and its subsidiary regulations, Risk Management Regulations and Guidelines on Risk Management. The bizSAFE Level 1 course will introduce the concept of bizSAFE and the risks to be addressed, including WSH risks and security risks posed by terror threats. Through facilitating participants to prepare their own WSH & Security policies to address WSH & security risks posted by terror threats, the course aims to help top management understand the role they play towards cultivating good safety and security practices in the workplace.
bizSAFE is a nationally recognised capability building programme designed to help companies build workplace safety and health capabilities. This programme includes SGSecure elements to help companies put in place measures to manage potential terror threats.
Benefits of bizSAFE Level 1
Achieving bizSAFE Level 1 certification offers several advantages to companies. Firstly, it enhances business opportunities by demonstrating a strong commitment to safety and health, which is a key consideration for many clients. This is because companies with established WSH systems and practices are preferred partners for contracts and tenders.
Furthermore, bizSAFE certification contributes to protecting and enhancing a company's corporate image. By prioritising safety and fostering a healthy work environment, companies showcase their dedication to delivering quality products and services while safeguarding their employees. This builds trust among clients and reinforces the company's reputation for responsible business practices.
Lastly, bizSAFE plays a crucial role in talent retention and attraction. Employees prioritise safety and health in their work environment. By obtaining bizSAFE certification, companies signal their commitment to employee well-being, positioning themselves as employers of choice. This helps attract top talent and ensures a skilled and motivated workforce, contributing to the long-term success and growth of the organisation.
